The Nose

Alexandre Alexeïeff and Claire Parker have rebuilt Gogol’s novel on the pinscreen as a strange ballet of visions and transformations scenes, the changing light of the day. A feeling reinforced by Hai Min’s improvised music. In a dreamlike, monochrome, icy and lonely St-Petersbourg, the drama of the noseless man desperately running after it, is performed in slow motion, mutely, in the pure logic of phantasm.
