He was born in the town of Sliven, Bulgaria on August 31, 1954. Graduated from the Sofia University with a degree in Bulgarian Philology. He wrote the scripts of some documentaries and TV-shorts, as well as the feature films. He is the author of two novels and three screenplays for full-length features. Track-a-track is his first film as a director.
