The 10th Festival of European Films on Wheels was held between the dates 1-31 October 2004 in Ankara, Bursa, İzmir, Kars, Van and Kayseri presenting 149 short and feature films from Europe. As there was a great public interest for the festival in Van and Kars, the University of Van and the Municipality of Kars decided to buy 35mm projectors to carry out regular film screenings in the future. 58 guests from Turkey and 32 guests from abroad were hosted in Bursa, İzmir, Kars and Kayseri. Two special volumes were published in cooperation of the Dost Publishing company with the objective to cast light onto the achievements of two eminent names of the Turkish cinema: Hülya Koçyiğit and Metin Erksan. Two exhibitions were held within the framework of the Festival: “Posters of Metin Erksan Films” selected by the film historian Agah Özgüç and the “Posters of the Festival of European Films” by Behiç Ak. The Festival was an overall success with a total number of 48.200 admissions. Regarding the Children’s Programme, Ankara Cinema Association collaborated with the municipalities in each city and children were transferred with busses from the schools to the theaters.
